My role as a tutor and mentor is to serve as a friendly guide, to help navigate whatever waters prove difficult for a student, and to make the work of learning and growing more engaging and enjoyable.

Tutoring

I am here to help break down big, daunting projects into manageable pieces. I’m also here to encourage the sort of independence of mind that builds confidence. The goal is growth over time, and the most essential contributor to that growth is the relationship I establish with each student.

College Applications

I also serve as a coach for the writing components of college applications. I focus on helping students take what is often daunting (so much writing!) and turn the process into an opportunity for insight and growth as a person and writer. I work with a limited number of students each year by special request.
